Rules
The 2016 Topcoder Open Development Competition (“Development Competition”) will take place between August 10, 2015 and May 31, 2016. The Development Competition will take place in four (4) online stages (each a “Stage” and collectively, the “Development Competition Stage”). The Development Competition will include the following tracks of competition: Code, Assembly, and Architecture.
The Development Competition will consist of online qualifying competitions; the top performer of each stage will win a prize and up to two (2) of the highest scoring Contestants from each of the online stage will win a trip to compete in the TCO16 Finals in Washington DC November 18-21, 2016.
Not all development competitions on the topcoder website are Tournament-eligible and topcoder shall determine at its sole discretion which Development Competitions are Tournament-eligible.
The Development Competition is part of the Tournament, and by participating in the Development Competition, you agree to the rules on this web page as well as the Tournament topcoder Terms of Use (collectively, the “Rules”).
Topcoder reserves the right to add or remove competition tracks as needed. Competition stages and prizes may be changed at any time at Topcoder’s sole discretion.
UPDATED INFORMATION:
Contestants are only eligible to win one trip to the onsite event(s) through the Development Competition and if a Contestant who wins a trip to the onsite Tournament pursuant to the Development Competition has already won a trip to the onsite Tournament, the next highest scoring Contestant will win the trip.
Contestants are eligible to win only one trip to the onsite Tournament regardless of the track they compete in. However, Contestants with more than one win across different tracks will receive $1,000 for each extra trip won.
If a Contestant wins more than one stage as the top performer, that Contestant will win the first place prize amount for each stage they win.
Schedule
During each Stage, Contestants who participate in Tournament-eligible Development Competitions on the topcoder website will receive points for that Stage as outlined in these Rules. Only Tournament-eligible Development Competitions in which registration has opened during the four (4) Stages shall be included in determining points for that Stage.
