ThoughtWorks

What is ThoughtWorks?

ThoughtWorks was founded by Roy Singham in Chicago over 20 years ago, based on a goal to attract and employ the best knowledge workers in the world and to build a community that values people’s attitude, aptitude, and integrity.

Twenty years later, ThoughtWorks has become a company of over 3,600 passionate people spread across 34 offices in 12 countries. Despite this growth, the mindset remains the same: to be a proactive agent of progressive change in the world and to help the powerless and invisible.

Our Mission

Our mission is to better humanity through software and help drive the creation of a socially and economically just world. We bring together the most capable, driven and passionate people – we call them ‘ThoughtWorkers’ – to:

  • Run a sustainable business
  • Champion software excellence and revolutionize the IT industry
  • Advocate passionately for social and economic justice.

We are passionate about technology

We think that technology can be a powerful force to change the world, that’s why we will never stop pursuing it.

We have our Technology Radar, to share our thoughts on the technology and trends that are shaping the future.

We have our Insights, to understand the trend and help to make business decisions.

We keep writing Blogs, because we think sharing knowledge is one of the most meaningful things on earth.

Our people & culture

Wherever we are in the world, ThoughtWorkers share the same culture, characteristics, and imperatives.

We come to work as ourselves. We enjoy each other’s company. We value honesty and transparency.

Appearances and backgrounds aren’t important to us; ideas and doing the right things are.

We abhor and reject discrimination and inequality and promote diversity in all its forms. We proudly, passionately and actively strive to make both ThoughtWorks and our industry more reflective and inclusive of the society that we serve.
